Hospital Hazardous Spill Containment

OSHA currently classifies an in-house chemical response team as an emergency response team. Maintaining such a specialized emergency response team requires extensive and continual training along with a variety of costly equipment. The stringent requirements for this type of team include extensive training and written policies, specialized personal protective gear, air monitoring equipment, and a medical surveillance program for these employees.

DQE recommends avoiding these problems by having responsible personnel in the immediate spill area handle all spills. We have designed planning and training programs to help hospitals through this process.
