Decon Training

"The tabletop scenarios were helpful and appropriately scheduled right before the hands-on scenarios.  Great program.  I feel confident we will have an efficient team."

Decontamination Training

Decontamination training is the most critical component in ensuring the safety of hospital staff during any hazardous materials incident. OSHA requires that hospitals provide ongoing training (Awareness & Operations) to personnel who are expected to decontaminate or interact with contaminated victims.Decon Training

Sustaining this capability is a challenge for any program or response capability that is used infrequently and intended to persevere over time.  Our  goal is to help hospitals attain a real, working level of decontamination preparedness and then support that effort over time – a task DQE has done successfully for over 17 years.

All DQE training offerings include a sustainment program that integrates three key instructional elements to support and maintain the proficiency of each hospital’s decontamination team.
  • DQE-on-Demand™- a best-in-class eLearning program that helps a hospital’s Decon Team meet (and maintain) OSHA certification to the First Responder Awareness and First Responder Operations levels.
  • Monthly Training Reminders - supported with a Quarterly Training Program that highlights a grouping of skill sets to keep the Decon Team proficient with minimum time commitment.
  • Educational Support Materials - DQE provides the hospital decontamination team coordinators and instructors with needed training agendas, student handouts, and support materials required to facilitate continuing education, to initiate training for new decon team members, and to maintain OSHA required competencies.

Since 1991, DQE has been trusted by over 500 hospitals and over 10,000 healthcare providers to provide consistent disaster preparedness for their facilities.
